Our First Visitors!

This past weekend we had our first visitors to our new home in Wisconsin.  Barton's sister Meg and her kids came to see us.  It was such a fun weekend!  It has so good to catch up with them and have lots of laughs!  

They got here on Friday.  After an afternoon of hanging out, a trip to our local park, and Dr. Barton pulling Jonas' wiggly tooth we headed to the pool!  We had a nice barbeque and played in the water. 

Saturday morning we headed to the beach at Lake Michigan!  Usually it only takes 15 minutes to get there.  Due to roads being closed and not knowing our way around very well, it took us over 50 minutes to get there.  Meanwhile we had a good tour of Milwaukee and a lot of good laughs.

 Uncle Barton insisted on burying the kids....couldn't quite talk Aunt Meg into it.

After we were done at the beach we headed to the Sate Fair!

 We rode lots of rides, tried cheese curds, saw lots of animals and had a lot of fun!

 Us girls on the Ferris Wheel.  Abigail was so excited to go to the fair.  To help her understand where we were going to go we recently checked out a book from the Library about Barney going to the fair.  This made her constantly ask when we were going to the fair.  We didn't realize why she was so excited to go until we got there and she kept asking where Barney was....  Oops, should have thought that one through.

 Jonas got a kick our out of running up and touching the different cows. He is one of the friendliest kids I know.  Even to the cows!

On Sunday we went to church, played games, hung out, and celebrated Meg and Jonas' upcoming birthdays!

 A little advice.  When you run out of eggs, due to a lot of cooking for a fun filled weekend (who knew 2 dozen eggs wouldn't be enough) and you can't make the planned birthday cake, wait for the no-bake cookies to cool before placing the candles in the molten cookie.  Who would have thought that candle wax could make such a pretty mess. Don't worry though, we threw this wax mess away before it was consumed!

As you can see, we had so much fun!  It was so good to see the kids and Meg.  Abigail loves her cousins so much.  Cari, Sarai, and Jonas are really good with her.  Cari even sewed Abigail a special blanket with a big A on it.  Abigail loves it!  She uses it for her dolls and calls it her "A" blanket.  Thank you Cari!

Graduation Plus Some...

My handsome hubby graduated!  I am so proud of all of his hard work and dedication to getting his Dental Degree.  Not only did he work super hard at school for the past four years but he was also the Young Men's President, became a daddy, did many externships and volunteer hours of dental work, still gave me lots of attention, etc!

We had lots of family come into town for the big event.  Thank you all who came!  Being with family is my favorite thing.  Here are a few pictures from the good times that we had!

Grandma Crabtree came first, followed shortly by Grandpa Crabtree.  Here we are touring a horse farm.  The horsing industry here is huge.  It boggles my mind how much money is put into horses.

This is an example of how big the horse industry is.  Behind it is where the famous Secretariat is burried.  Flowers are constantly being delivered to the gravesite.  Including a new dozen roses that are delivered every day.  Yes, every day.

I love to go to Museums!  My parents and I went to the house that Mary Todd Lincoln spent many years of her childhood. 

My love of Museums might be put on hold for a while.  This little girl doesn't understand how cool they are.  We ended up doing the museum in two shifts so that Abigail could play outside.  Someday she will understand how cool museums are and she will want to go to all of them with me and she will enjoy it....I hope :)

The last day of school!  This picture was taken on Barton's last day of school, right after he walked in from walking home from the bus.  These last 4 years have gone so fast!

The Sloan's all arived on Friday, May 3rd.  We hung out and took a late night swim.  Again, I love being with family.

Sarai was baptized on Saturday.  It was a beautiful meeting.  We are so proud of her.

Thanks Grandma Sloan for entertaining Abigail through a lot of Graduation.  And thanks Baby Claire for sharing your binky with Abigail to get her through the rest of it!

The Big 29!  Barton and Brandon turned the big 29.  We celebrated with a yummy breakfast, time at the park including a fun bike ride, Iron Man 3, a yummy dinner, and yummy desserts.

The First of Many Visitors

 

With graduation right around the corner, visits from family have started.  My beautiful sister Elizabeth, her fun hubby David and their cute baby Monson came from Utah. 

We had such a fabulous time.  It was so much fun.  And as always, it went way too fast!!!  We played games, went shopping, toured Kentucky, stayed up way too late, ate yummy food, etc.  Here are some pictures from all of our fun!

 Abigail always loves to help with babies.  She was always ready to help Monson with a bottle, chased him around trying to cram food in his mouth, and loved to find him toys.  A little too much help :)

 

We played lots of games.  

We had to do something "Kentucky-ish" so we headed to Keenland!  This was my favorite thing that we did while they were here.  Twice a year Keenland, the local horse track, has horse races.  On Saturdays they have a big yummy breakfast and you can watch the horses warm up.  There were also activities for kids.

This picture is one of my favorite photos of the trip.  Aunt Elizabeth was wonderful and helped alter some of Abigail's winter jammies into summer jammies.  This is Abigail modeling her new "bracelets" that Aunt Elizabeth made for her out of the scraps.

 Barton has found a new love, rode biking.  He and David went for a ride.

Spring is beautiful here in the Bluegrass State.  We went to the Lexington Cemetery where Spring is in full bloom.
