Hello all! We are sad to see the summer end. The happy news is that the world is looking beautiful with all of the leaves starting to change. We hope you all had a fabulous month of August. Here is a review of ours:
The remodel: Barton fixed up our downstairs bathroom. It is so nice to have the extra bathroom, especially when guests come. Here is a picture of Barton with his little assistant doing the tile.
The petting farm! We went with our good friends The Woolfs to a local petting farm. We soon learned how much Abigail likes animals from a distance. She finally warmed up to the idea of petting some of them by the end of the day and was sad to leave.
Sad story, she finally got comfy brushing the donkey by herself. Right after I snapped this picture my water bottle fell and scared the donkeys, causing them to go crazy with Abigail right in between them. She was very upset to say the least.
William and Katelyn!
My super cute cousin and his sweet wife stopped to see us on their way to move to Kentucky for Pharmacy School. They are actually moving next door to our old home, right into our ward. I would be fibbing to say that I wasn't totally jealous of them.
It was so good to spend time with them! We had a lot of fun. Being away from home while a lot of my cousins have gotten married has been a little sad because I don't get to know their spouses. Abigail and I were able to be home last summer when they got married but besides the wedding and bridal shower but this time we didn't get much time with Katelyn. So we had a lot of fun getting to know her more. Even though they were only with us for about 24 hours we fit: catching up, the zoo, playing games, croquet, eating lots and Abigail getting a lot of attention! Here are some pictures:
Abigail had so much fun playing with both William and Katelyn
The zoo
The Wisconsin State Fair!
The Wisconsin State Fair! We had a great time going to the fair. Our sweet landlord always spoils us with tickets to the great event. We had a lot of fun eating unhealthy food and riding way overpriced rides! Good thing the fair is only once a year!
One of our favorite booths was the milk booth. Each cup costs a quarter and a variety of flavors including "Fruit-Loop" milk and "Cake-Batter" milk.
This corn dog was so gigantic, it was definitely enough to feed all of us.
For all of you cookie dough lovers out there, here is deep-fried-cookie dough. And to think that I had a phobia in college about eating cookie dough :) Roommates, you should be proud!
The Kangaroos at the fair are a lot more fun then the ones at our local zoo. The ones at our local zoo are usually just laying around.
I promise you that usually we try to eat pretty healthy. But when in Rome....
My half-birthday!
We love birthdays at the Sloan house! I woke up to this on my half-birthday: half of a birthday sign and a bunch of cupcakes cut in half. Barton is too good to me!
The Beach!
This summer went way too fast. It is kind of pathetic that we didn't make it to the beach this summer until the end of August. We had a great time celebrating Jacob's 4th birthday by playing in the sand!
Happy 4th Birthday Jacob!

LizzyPoo!
Super blurry picture but we were SO excited to see each other at the airport!
Last but definitely not least, my sister came to spend time with us. It was definitely a highlight of our summer. She brought my adorable nephew Monson with her. We had a blast! It was like a fabulous week long vacation. We did lots of fun things including: talked a ton, played a lot of games, went to the beach, went swimming, went shopping, went to the zoo, went to Cedarburg for a day, etc. (Special thanks to Grandma, Grandpa, David, and my sister Rebecca who helped with her other 3 kiddos so that she could come!) LizzyPoo come back to me!
We went to the Jelly Belly Factory
